Bathroom Design Examples

It’s always difficult to visualise your new bathroom when it’s still at the design stage. That’s why our designers will turn your snaps and sketches into realistic 3D images so there’s nothing left to the imagination. After all, a picture speaks a thousand words.

Here’s a taster of what our talented design team can do. We’ve taken a typical cloakroom, family bathroom and shower room and given each two different treatments. There’s a ‘good’option to show just how many stylish touches you can include with a modest budget, and a ‘best’option to reveal what you can achieve if you want to elevate things to the next level.

Cloakroom: Good

When you’re planning a cloakroom, the challenge isn’t deciding the layout (after all, there’s probably only one place the toilet can go) but sourcing products that maximise the space. Duravit’s D-Code WC fits the bill, thanks to its close-coupled pan and cistern. From the same range, the hand-rinse basin is a practical 450mm wide but projects just 340mm into the room and has an offset tap to allow for a bigger bowl. It’s also wall hung, keeping the floor clear to create the illusion of space. Overall, this is a simple and uncluttered design that will stand the test of time.

Shopping list:

  • Duravit D-Code 360 x 270mm hand-rinse basin
  • Hansgrohe Focus mixer with pop-up waste kit
  • Chrome bottle trap
  • Duravit D-Code close-coupled WC & Soft Close seat
  • Hansgrohe Logis toilet roll holder
  • Our Price for all these items – £427.00 including VAT

Cloakroom: Best

Less space doesn’t mean less style. The cloakroom is the room all your visitors will see, so dress it to impress with a super-contemporary matt black metal console that provides storage space for essential items. To create a cohesive design, we’ve added a matt black tap, click-clack waste and flush plate. For the toilet, we’ve gone to the top end of Duravit’s ranges with the ME by Starck wall-hung WC.

Shopping list:

  • Duravit DuraSquare 450 x 350mm hand-rinse basin
  • Duravit DuraSquare matt black metal console & glass insert
  • Tide black tap with click-clack waste
  • Bathwaters black bottle trap

Shower Room: Good

Shower rooms are usually small, so they need to be well planned to make sure there’s room for a generous shower. In the design shown, we’ve opted for a Roman Lumin8 sliding door that won’t encroach on the available space. A wall-hung basin and toilet also make sense as they keep the floor clear and give the illusion of a larger bathroom. Storage is always a priority in the shower room, so here some simple open shelves above the WC are a practical addition. We haven’t included a vanity unit in this design, but the Duravit D-Code basin shown would easily accommodate one below it.

Shopping list:

  • Duravit D-Code basin (600 x 460mm) and trap cover
  • Hansgrohe Talis E tap and pop-up waste kit
  • Roman Lumin8 1200mm sliding shower door
  • Roman 1200 x 800mm acrylic-capped stone resin tray
  • Hansgrohe Crometta 240 thermostatic shower pipe
  • Duravit D-Code wall-hung WC with Soft Close seat
  • Reduced-height WC frame
  • Chrome dual-flush plate
  • Our Price for all these items – £1,695.00 including VAT

Shower Room: Best

Here, we’ve styled our small shower room with a striking black and white scheme. The star of the design is the Industrial style shower door, which injects a strong industrial vibe. This is echoed throughout with touches of black, from Duravit’s DuraSquare basin to the stylish matt black tap and shower from our own range. Concealing the workings of the shower might be more of an investment, but it’s worth it to achieve the sleek, minimalist look you see here.

Shopping list:

  • DuraSquare 450 x 350mm basin with wall mounted black metal console
  • Tide black tap, black click clack waste & black bottle trap
  • Recessed Mirror Cabinet
  • Roman Industrial Black Grid shower door and inline panel (1200mm)
  • Roman Infinity 1200 x 800mm matt white tray
  • Ripple Black overhead shower & arm
  • Black 2 way thermostatic shower valve
  • Bathwaters hand-shower kit
  • Duravit ME by Starck compact wall-hung WC
  • Reduced-height WC frame
  • Black dual flush plate
  • Our Price for all these items – £4,600.00 including VAT

Family Bathroom: Good

In this design we didn’t have space for a separate shower, so chose the Duravit D-Code shower bath—perfect for a long soak, baby’s bathtime or the family’s morning routine. It’s important to fit in as much storage as possible without overcrowding the space, so we’ve selected Duravit’s two-drawer Ketho vanity unit. The wall-hung WC is another space-saving solution, while the false wall needed to conceal its cistern and frame can be turned into a handy shelf as shown.

Shopping list:

  • Duravit D-Code shower bath
  • Hansgrohe thermostatic bath-shower mixer and slider bar
  • Roman bath screen
  • Duravit D-Code 650mm basin and Ketho two-drawer unit
  • Hansgrohe Talis E basin mixer
  • Bathwaters twin LED lights mirror
  • Duravit D-Code wall-hung WC & soft close seat
  • Reduced-height WC frame
  • Chrome dual flush plate
  • Our Price for all these items – £2,460.00 including VAT

A Duravit Luv freestanding bath and separate shower enclosure are teamed with a Duravit Luv double vanity unit to ease the morning rush. The basin taps are wall mounted to create more countertop space and finished in brushed brass for a luxe touch.
