The Formed Bron concrete basin Incorporates a series of arches into its external surfaces. Each arch is positioned at a slightly different angle, which produces a shadow on the arch below it. This design feature adds depth and dimension to the basin, transforming it from a simple functional object into a work of art. About Formed Concrete
Formed are a series of hand crafted concrete basins made with recycled materials. Formed have channelled their expertise into producing a unique collection of eco-friendly concrete basins that are manufactured in a low carbon process. The basins are composed of 80% recycled sands and aggregates sourced from the UK.
The Concrete
When Formed basins are cast, the liquid concrete moves within the mould which creates a visible textural flow on the surface when the basin is de-moulded.
Characteristic to Formed basins, are the pin holes and air bubbles that naturally occur within concrete. Pin holes can vary in size and frequency depending on many factors such as mixture or seasonal temperatures.
The colour of the basins can vary slightly from mix to mix. This is completely normal and is a result of differences in the recycled materials used within the concrete itself, as well as ambient conditions.
Some basins are made from two, three or even four part moulds. The junctions between these moulds often causes the concrete to move between the moulds during casting, creating a textural and colour change. This is a normal part of the process and does not affect the basin function.
